Running. Theater. Rock and roll / 90 min. / 14+
Inspired by Haruki Murakami’s memoirs
Live music * and reflections on running from the world’s most famous Japanese writer. Fresh, ironic, touching and motivating! We promise you a real run, when the pulse is 120 beats per minute, the Beatles play on headphones, and personal problems, global catastrophes, fear and anxiety are left behind. When you shine like a star, and there are no clouds in the sky, when the only thing you need is sneakers, and you understand that suffering is a matter of choice. As well as pleasure. There will be only
you and your running, your flight, your road. And the exciting thing is that you won’t make a move. That play is non-fiction. A mix of drive and philosophy, wit and wisdom. This is not a classic play with a clear
plot and structure, it is a set of observations, conclusions, insights from Murakami and young actors of the Maly Theater. Running is a metaphor here. Join us!
The performance includes cover versions of hits by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Vopli Vidoplyasov and others performed by Maly Theater actors.
** We got inspiration from reading the memoir of What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, but the play is not a stage version of this text.
*** In case of unfavorable weather conditions, the play takes place in the auditorium.
